Highlights:
- Pixels on Ethereum offers token rewards to players who successfully flirt with an AI NPC.
- The top 500 participants will receive PIXEL tokens—and possibly future AIV tokens.
- The time-limited challenge ends on May 22.
- It’s part of the game’s broader AI engagement strategy.
What is “rizz-to-earn”?
The idea of mining tokens through flirting may sound absurd—and that’s exactly the point. The Ethereum-based game Pixels offers players a chance to earn airdrops by successfully flirting with an AI character.
Players are calling the challenge “rizz-to-earn” (a play on “charisma” and “earn”)—a new mini-model inspired by familiar play-to-earn and tap-to-earn mechanics.
How to participate?
To join, players must enter the game Pixels, go to Terra Villa, and enter AiVeronica’s castle to purchase a special key:
- 100 PIXEL tokens (~$5) in-game
- or 77 PIXEL (~$4) via the AiVeronica website (almost sold out)
After that, they’ll enter a special room where the flirting begins.
Gameplay: An AI character with personality
Players are greeted by an AI character with a unique personality, interests, and backstory. The goal is to “win over” the character using clever dialogue—the better the flirtation, the higher the score.
If a player scores over 80 points, they’ll rank on the campaign leaderboard. The top 500 players who reach that score the fastest will win PIXEL rewards, distributed as follows:
- Top 10: 1% of the total PIXEL prize pool
- Ranks 11–100: 0.3% each
- Ranks 101–500: 0.2% each
Additionally, there’s a possible future airdrop of AIV tokens (AiVeronica’s token).
Deadline: Until May 22
The challenge launched last week and will continue through Thursday, May 22.
How to become a “rizz king”?
Unfortunately, rizz can’t be taught—you just have to feel it,
jokes crypto gaming influencer and AiVeronica partner Luke Franks.
His advice:
Every AI persona has a specific interest. Try to figure it out quickly and speak about that—that’s how you’ll rack up points fast.
Who is AiVeronica?
AiVeronica is an AI agent that learns through interactions with players. Developed in partnership with Virtuals Protocol, it has its own token with a market cap of $4.5 million according to DEX Screener.
In the game, players don’t interact directly with AiVeronica but rather her “friends”—NPCs programmed to respond uniquely.
Goal: Real AI characters with real impact
While the concept is fun and even a bit absurd, the challenge is part of a broader push for AI innovation in gaming.
AiVeronica is part of our long-term vision to expand interaction and storytelling within Pixels,
says project founder Luke Barwikowski.
He adds that the team is already working on AI assistants (like a farmer NPC) to enrich gameplay and make Pixels a living, dynamic world.
Context: AI in crypto and mainstream gaming
AI is already shaping crypto gaming. In 2023, Decentraland added AI NPCs.
That same year, a GTA V mod emerged allowing NPCs to insult players dynamically.
Recently, Fortnite launched an AI-controlled Darth Vader with a voice modeled after the late James Earl Jones. Unfortunately, players quickly had him swearing—until Epic issued a fix.
Conclusion:
AI is quickly becoming a key tool to make characters feel more lifelike.
We’re exploring new ways to connect players through meaningful and exciting activities,
says Barwikowski.
AiVeronica’s friends aren’t just NPCs—they respond to player choices, alter storylines, and feel like real characters. It’s a major step toward our vision of making Pixels a world where characters truly come alive.
